Prof. Beatrice de Graaf
Beatrice de Graaf is the principal investigator of the Blueprints-project and (co-) promotor of the PhD-candidates.
Beatrice is full professor in History of International Relations and Global Governance at Utrecht University. She studied Modern History and German language and culture at Utrecht and Bonn and received her PhD from Utrecht University in 2004 (on the GDR, the Dutch churches and the peace movement, bestowed with the Max van der Stoel Human rights award).
Beatrice’s research interests are terrorism, security history and European security culture. She received a VIDI-grant for her project on “The Making of a National Security State” and currently leads the SECURE-project, funded by an EU Consolidator Grant, to investigate the origins and makings of a European security culture in the long 19th century.
