Prof. Mathieu Segers

Mathieu Segers is one of the applicants of the Blueprints-project and co-promotor of the PhD candidates. Mathieu is Professor of Contemporary European History and European Integration at Maastricht University and Dean of the University College Maastricht. In 2006 he received his PhD, based on a dissertation on the position of West-Germany concerning the Treaty of Rome, at Radboud University Nijmegen.

Mathieu’s research interests focus on the history and pre-history of European integration and trans-Atlantic relations. His book on The Netherlands and European integration won the Dutch prize for best political book in 2013.
