Mathieu Segers gave inaugural lecture

On Friday 7 December 2018, prof. dr. Mathieu Segers gave his inaugural lecture at Maastricht University, titled “European Integration and its Vicissitudes.”

In an interview with NRC, Mathieu elaborates on this, arguing that the EU as we know it today is just one of the options of European integration. We need to study historical accounts of earlier episodes of European integration to become aware of alternative blueprints.
