Granville Conway was asked in December 1946 by Harry Truman to head the Emergency Export Program which was aimed at getting raw materials and food over to Europe under administration of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA). Served as chairman of the Transportation Subcommittee on the President’s Committee on Foreign Aid.
