W. Randolph Burgess was a prominent banker in the 1920s and 1930s. Between 1940 and 1945 he was president of the American Bankers Association. He was an expert statistician who had earned his doctorate at Columbia University in 1920. In 1947, he served on the President’s Committee on Foreign Aid.
