James Ivan Axel Dickson, born in 1899, was a Swedish agronomist and Member of Parliament. He graduated in 1917 and joined the young Swedish Air Force in 1920. During the Winter War of 1939-1940, he fought voluntarily as Captain in Finland and he also volunteered in Norway during the Blitzkrieg.
In 1941, Dickson entered the Swedish parliament as a member of the liberal-conservative wing. Post-war, he was a substitute member for Sweden in the Consultative Assembly of the Congress of Europe from 1949 until 1957. He also participated in the Ecumenical Commission for European Cooperation, which was later turned into the Committee on Christian Responsibility for European Cooperation.
