Christian Stephansen Oftedal was a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. He was editor-in-chief of the ‘Stavanger Aftenblad’, a Christian-conservative paper, from 1932 to 1940 and 1945 to 1955.
In 1949 he was a member of the first session of the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe.
He also was the Norwegian representative to the United Nations General Assembly. He joined the Ecumenical Commission for European Cooperation.
